Tensile Testing Metallurgical Laboratory performs Rotational Capacity Tests or RoCaps per both ASTM & AASHTO methods. This test consists of a bolt, nut and washer that individually each component has passed the material specification and they are put together and tested as an assembly.
Per ASTM A325 section 6.3.1, the rotational capacity test is defined as a test, “that is intended to evaluate the presence of a lubricant, the efficiency of the lubricant, and the compatibility of assemblies as represented by the components selected for testing.”
TTML can perform tests up to a 2 1/2" (64 mm) bolt.
